Rubric-we need a grade level rubric for Music that will be easy to use for the district.

Tasks- We need to review the current grade reporting elements for K-2 only. We need to improve our standard of communication with the parents. This revision must be complete before the end of May, therefore we will do this together on this website based approach.

Question: How can we improve our rubric on the K-2 grade report form to reflect the assessments that we perform in our classes? Please comment.

I attended a report card committee meeting on Monday. The due date for what we would like to do this year is due June 2. Basically we would like to start with the specials areas developing a rubric that the parents look at to better understand the 4, 3, 2, or 1 their child has been given. If you go to **http://www.roundrockisd.org/home/index.asp?page=1581** you will see the rubrics that parents look at for the other subject areas. Let's develop something that fits what we do in Art & Music. That might be all we get done for this year but then next year we can continue to revise and make improvements on the way we grade our K., 1st and 2nd grade students. In particular - check out Technology, Language Arts, Science/Social Studies. I think it will give us a good start. Here are some initial thoughts on the rubrics. These are rough, very rough - just something to get us started.
